- books.google.com - now also many German-language titles. Anyone interested in books they can read up or possibly find a review as a purchase decision.
- gutenberg.spiegel.de - the Gutenberg Project was founded in 1994 and includes more than 5400 books. Included are works whose copyright has expired.
- www.digbib.org - a free digital library of works that no longer exist on copyright claims.
